Angelos Antonopoulos

Angelos Antonopoulos (16 January 1932 - 30 May 2026) was a Greek actor. Originally from Gortynia, he was born in Piraeus and grew up in Tambouria and Ancient Olympia. This place influenced his thinking and his life. He studied at the Drama School of the Karolos Koun Theater. As an actor, he served all types of theater. He began his wonderful journey, playing in performances by great Greek and foreign writers under the guidance of Karolos Koun. An era rich in successes and experiences. After Koun, his journey in theater continued in collaboration with Dimitris Myrat at the Mousouri Theater. Since 1962 and for ten years he has been playing in large troupes. He collaborated with all the leading men and women of Greek theater, in all theatrical genres: "Julius Caesar" (by Shakespeare), "The Rise of Arthur Huy" (by Brecht), "The Loves of the Four Colonels" (by Ustinov), "The Seagull" (by Chekhov), "Tovarich" (by Jacques De Waal), etc. In cinema, he made an impressive start with Takis Kanellopoulos' Excursion and Parenthesis.
