Mikhail Yurievich Segal (Russian: Михаил Юрьевич Сегал; born 3 January 1974, Orel) is a Russian filmmaker, clipmaker, writer, scriptwriter, editor and composer. He is best known for the cult film-almanac "Short Stories" by adapting your own prose. He also gained a reputation as an "anti-pop" clipmaker. Segal is an author of novels for «Russian Pioneer» magazine. Studied at the director’s faculty of the Film Institute VGIK, made music clips for the groups Bi-2, Spleen, Nogu Svelo! [Twisted Leg], Nochnye Snaipery [Night Snipers], Kasta, Mashina Vremeni [Time Machine], etc. Published two collections of prose. In 2006 at XXVIII Moscow International Film Festival, Mikhail presented his first full-length film "Franz+Polina" and got recognition at many Russian and international festivals (in Germany, France, Poland, Canada, China, and other countries). In 2010, "AST" publishing house published Mikhail's first book of prose "Youth" containing a story of the same name and a collection of short novels.
