Sofía Garza

Sofía Garza was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. At the age of 15 she started performing in school musical theater plays, and participated both as a singer and a composer on several music festivals. During her time in high school, Sofia traveled to France and Portugal, singing and dancing Mexican folklore music. She also participated in the first season of the show Latin American Idol (2006), which took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina. While studying for her B.A. in Communication and Advertising at Tec de Monterrey (ITESM), Sofia worked in several professional musical theater plays for the most prestigious local production company: Teló 77. Her most important roles at this stage were on the major shows "Rent" and "Footloose", starring as Mimi and Ariel, respectively. After graduating college, Sofia had her first appearance on a television series in 2010, working on 6 episodes of the show Morir en Martes (2010). A year later, she was offered the part of the lead antagonist in "Cursi", a comedy play written and directed by local playwright Luis Guerrero. In 2012, Sofia lent her voice and lyrics for a song composed by José Antonio 'Potro' Farías for the soundtrack of the Mexica
